Today I woke up at 6:45. I had a light breakfast of some toast and jam, along with a coffee au lait. I left the house to go to the metro, and then walked from the metro to school.

Once I got to school, we had a class discussion with Mr. Ahern and Ms. McGrath, along with Madame Safsef, the English teacher here at Lycée Saint Marc. We talked about the differences in culture and life between France and the US, and how those differences changed our view on life here in Lyon. I said that one major difference was the time that they ate dinner, much later than what would be typical in the US.

After the discussion, we walked to the metro to go to the Groupama Stadium, the main soccer stadium in Lyon. We took the metro to the terminus, then took a tram to the stadium.

Once at the stadium, we took some photos and met up with our tour guide,Thibault, who took us inside.

First we saw the president's area, with large windows that overlooked the pitch. We saw the VIP seats, which had padding and a great view of the field. I was blown away by the size of the stadium and the president's box. I was not anticipating such a giant stadium in the middle of Lyon.

Next, we went down to the press room. They had several rows of seating for the journalists who wanted to ask questions after the game. We took a group photo in front of the interview screen, and then moved on to the locker rooms.

The Home locker rooms were very spacious, and it was cool to see where the players sit and strategize before and during the game. Afterwards, we went to the away lockers, which were smaller and much more uncomfortable.

Lastly, to end the tour, we ran out through the doors onto the pitch. The guide played music and used the lights as though it were a real game, which made it fun.

After the tour, we went to the gift shop before getting on the tram to take us back to the school. It was pouring with rain, but we managed to stay dry under the tram shelter while we waited.

Once we got back to the school, I left with my student and some other exchange participants to go get lunch at KFC. We took the metro to get there, and then did some shopping on the main avenue afterwards.

I got home, watched a Roland-Garros tennis match, then had some pasta for dinner, along with a cookie for dessert.

Overall, it was an excellent day, but it also is amazing that it was my second to last day in Lyon. My time here has been amazing, but it has also flown by.
